Sanju Samson Supported for India Captaincy Post Ignoring Rohit Sharma and Hardik Pandya

Harbhajan Singh, a former Indian cricketer, has been suggested by many to be India’s next full-time white-ball captain after Rohit Sharma. However, Singh has expressed his alternative views. He took to X (formerly Twitter) after Rajasthan Royals’ 9-wicket win over Mumbai Indians, stating that Sanju Samson should be included in the Indian team for the T20 World Cup and groomed as the next T20 captain for India after Rohit.

He also praised Yashasvi Jaiswal’s performance as evidence that class is permanent and form is temporary. Singh’s comment comes as Samson has been in remarkable form for the Royals this season and has also led the franchise to the top of the IPL 2024 standings after 8 games. Samson is currently the second-highest run-scorer for his team in this term, accumulating a total of 314 runs at an average of 62.80 and a strike-rate of 152.42.

In comparison, Hardik Pandya has not performed well so far in the season, whether as a batsman, bowler, or captain.
