Virender Sehwag Sends Blunt Message to Hardik Pandya’s Critics Over Rohit Sharma’s Performance

The Mumbai Indians (MI) have only managed to accumulate six points from eight matches, leaving them with the daunting task of winning all their remaining matches in order to qualify for the playoffs. Hardik Pandya, the all-rounder for MI, has been facing criticism for his lackluster performances both as a player and captain. He has been under pressure due to the high expectations surrounding him, but former cricketer Virender Sehwag believes that Hardik should focus on his individual performance rather than succumb to external pressure. Sehwag pointed out that even MI’s captain, Rohit Sharma, had a similar experience in the past seasons, and facing pressure is nothing new for the team.

He emphasized the need for Hardik to bat higher up the order in order to give himself the opportunity to perform well, thereby improving his batting, bowling, and captaincy. Despite his previous batting position at No. 4 for Gujarat Titans, Hardik came out to bat at No. 7 against Rajasthan Royals (RR) after three quick wickets fell in the powerplay.

Sehwag stressed the importance of Hardik giving himself the chance to perform by batting higher up the order, as only then can he truly deliver for the team. Ultimately, Sehwag believes that if Mumbai Indians come together as a team and perform collectively, they can overcome their current challenges. He cautioned against allowing the pressure of expectations to impact Hardik’s performance and suggested that by focusing on his individual game, he can improve the team’s overall performance.
