10 Top BJP Leaders in Line to Join Trinamool” says Abhishek Banerjee ahead of 2024 Lok Sabha Elections

In a recent road show in a Murshidabad Lok Sabha constituency, Mr. Banerjee asserted that the Trinamool Congress will open its doors at the opportune moment and that the BJP will be eliminated from the state. He accused the BJP of attempting to break parties and claimed that in response to the poaching of two of their MPs, the Trinamool Congress had taken two BJP MPs, Arjun Singh and Babul Supriyo.

Mr. Banerjee also mentioned that the Enforcement Directorate raids facilitated the induction of Tapas Ray and alleged that at least 10 top leaders of the BJP are in line to join the Trinamool. Reacting to Mr. Banerjee’s statement, BJP Spokesperson Samik Bhattacharya predicted that the Trinamool Congress would disintegrate after the elections are over, likening it to a “pack of cards.”

He dismissed Mr. Banerjee’s claims as political rhetoric stemming from the frustration of losing in West Bengal. Since the 2021 assembly polls, several significant political figures have switched to the Trinamool Congress, including former Union minister Babul Supriyo, party MP Arjun Singh, and eight legislators, notably national vice-president Mukul Roy.
