BJP Leader from Minority Morcha Criticizes PM Modi, Gets Expelled

Bikaner BJP Minority Morcha district president Usman Ghani has been expelled from the party. This decision comes after Mr. Ghani made remarks during a news channel interview in New Delhi, where he commented on the BJP’s potential loss of Lok Sabha seats in Rajasthan and criticized Prime Minister Modi’s statements about Muslims during election rallies.

In response to a question about PM Modi’s remarks, Mr. Ghani expressed disappointment as a Muslim and stated that the community seeks answers from him when confronted with the PM’s comments while he is trying to secure votes for the BJP. He also mentioned the Jat community’s discontent with the BJP in certain constituencies.

Despite the potential consequences, Mr. Ghani asserted that he was not afraid to speak out. Following the circulation of a video showing his comments, BJP’s state disciplinary committee chairman Onkar Singh Lakhawat accused Usman Ghani of attempting to tarnish the party’s image and announced his expulsion from the party for six years.

The expulsion came prior to the polls for the Bikaner Lok Sabha seat, which took place on April 19. Additionally, PM Modi’s recent rally in Banswara, Rajasthan stirred controversy as he insinuated that the Congress would redistribute wealth to Muslims if they came to power, further provoking a reaction from opposition parties.
