BJP Leader from Minority Morcha Expelled for Criticizing PM Narendra Modi’s Comments

Bikaner BJP Minority Morcha district president Usman Ghani was expelled from the party after making controversial remarks in a news channel interview. Ghani had predicted BJP’s loss of three to four Lok Sabha seats in Rajasthan and criticized Prime Minister Modi’s comments about Muslims during election rallies in the state.

He expressed disappointment as a Muslim and mentioned that the Jat community was also angry with the party in some constituencies. Despite the potential consequences, Ghani stated that he was not afraid of the party taking action against him for his statements.

Following the emergence of a video showing Ghani’s conversation with a news channel reporter, BJP’s state disciplinary committee chairman Onkar Singh Lakhawat accused Ghani of attempting to tarnish the party’s image in the media. As a result, Ghani was expelled from the party for six years for breaching discipline.

The controversy occurred ahead of the election for the Bikaner Lok Sabha seat, which took place in the first phase on April 19. Meanwhile, Prime Minister Modi’s remarks during a rally in Banswara, Rajasthan, where he suggested that the Congress would redistribute wealth to Muslims if it came to power, have sparked criticism from various opposition parties.
