Lie Machine”: AAP Responds to Enforcement Directorate’s Affidavit In Supreme Court In Arvind Kejriwal Arrest Case admin, April 24, 2024 Mr. Kejriwal’s Aam Aadmi Party has alleged that the Central agency is merely a “machine churning out lies” at the behest of the BJP. The party has filed a petition challenging Mr. Kejriwal’s arrest by the agency in the Delhi liquor policy case, which is set to be heard in court. Today, the Enforcement Directorate has filed an affidavit contesting the petition. In the affidavit, the agency has stated that despite issuing nine summons, Mr. Kejriwal did not appear for questioning, and has contended that he was avoiding questioning. The Enforcement Directorate has also raised concerns about possible evidence tampering, citing an instance where 170 cellphones were altered and destroyed by 36 persons during the period of the scam. In response, AAP has accused the ED of functioning as a political ally of the BJP, claiming that the agency does not have any evidence against Mr. Kejriwal and the other arrested leaders. The matter recently went to the Supreme Court after the Delhi High Court validated Mr. Kejriwal’s arrest. The top court, however, refused an early hearing and asked the agency to file its response to his petition by April 26. When the AAP leader approached the court, it was closed for Eid, and the matter is scheduled to be heard next week. Aam Aadmi Party
