P Chidambaram questions if the BJP is reading a manifesto written by ghosts?

The former finance minister expressed his disagreement with the comments made by BJP leaders, stating that they were “completely imaginary”. He highlighted that the claims possibly stem from the fact that his party’s manifesto was well-considered, while the BJP’s was centered around cult worship. Speaking exclusively to NDTV, he emphasized that the BJP’s recent statements were baseless and challenged them to show where these claims were mentioned in the manifesto.

Responding to a question about Sam Pitroda’s controversial remarks regarding the inheritance law in the US, the former finance minister clarified that the issue was not included in the manifesto and he had not addressed it. He continued to assert that all the recent statements by BJP leaders were entirely made up and challenged them to provide evidence from the manifesto to support their claims. The former finance minister asserted that the Congress had carefully planned its manifesto and was confident that all promises made could be fulfilled during a government’s term.

He highlighted past instances where the Congress had been criticized for promises, such as waiving agricultural loans and implementing the Mahatma Gandhi Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme, but had successfully delivered on those commitments. He emphasized the widespread discussion of the Congress manifesto’s promise of justice for various societal sectors and contrasted it with the BJP’s “Modi Ki Guarantee”, labeling it as cult worship and lacking comparable promises. He further stated that the BJP’s document had quickly faded from public attention, leading them to invent fictitious stories to attack the Congress.
