Kompella Madhavi Latha: BJP’s Hyderabad candidate declares assets worth Rs 221 crore

Madhavi Latha revealed details of the family assets in an affidavit submitted to the Election Commission. She, along with her husband Kompella Viswanath, both business persons, and their three dependent children, disclosed movable assets of Rs 165.46 crore and immovable assets of Rs.55.91 crore. These details were revealed in an affidavit submitted to the Election Commission on Wednesday as part of her nomination filing. Madhavi Latha, a 49-year-old resident of Secunderabad, recently joined the BJP and is making her electoral debut.

In the submitted affidavit, she declared movable assets of Rs 31.31 crore, including a Rs.25.20 crore investment in listed and unlisted companies, as well as Rs 7.80 crore in Virinchi Ltd. Additionally, she also owns gold jewelry worth Rs 3.78 crore. Madhavi Latha’s husband has movable assets of Rs 88.31 crore, including shares worth Rs 52.36 crore in Virinchi Ltd, and their three dependent children own total movable assets of over Rs 45 crore. The BJP candidate also possesses immovable assets valued at Rs 6.32 crore, while her husband’s immovable assets are reported at Rs 49.59 crore. These assets include non-agricultural land and commercial and residential buildings in and around Hyderabad.

Madhavi Latha has declared liabilities of Rs 90 lakh, while her husband’s liabilities stand at Rs 26.13 crore. In terms of income, Madhavi Latha reported an income of Rs 3.76 lakh for 2022-23 and Rs 1.22 crore for 2021-22, while her husband’s income was Rs 2.82 crore for 2022-23 and Rs 6.86 crore for 2021-22. The BJP candidate faces one criminal case, registered against her at Begum Bazar Police Station under Indian Penal Code (IPC) section 295-A for an alleged gesture at a Masjid.
