Paramilitary CRPF Officer Khajan Singh Guilty Of Sex Abuse, Faces Dismissal admin, April 26, 2024 Khajan Singh, the Chief Sports Officer of the CRPF at the rank of Deputy Inspector General (DIG), has been accused of sexually harassing women personnel within the paramilitary force. Sources revealed on Friday that following these allegations, the CRPF conducted an investigation, subsequently finding him guilty. The country’s largest paramilitary force then submitted a report to the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC), which in turn requested the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) for his dismissal. A senior officer stated, “An enquiry was conducted by the CRPF against the officer. Following due process of law, action was taken, and a report was submitted to the UPSC. Now, the UPSC recommended his dismissal. The MHA has also approved it. The CRPF has issued dismissal notice to the officer.” Prior to assuming the role of CRPF Chief Sports Officer, Khajan Singh had achieved a silver medal at the 1986 Seoul Asian Games in the 200 meters butterfly event, marking India’s first swimming medal at the event since 1951. Khajan Singh, who is currently stationed in Mumbai, has not issued a statement yet. He has been given a 15-day period to respond to the dismissal notice, as he faces two charges with the notice of dismissal being issued in one case. Investigations are still ongoing in the second case. Previously, he had refuted the allegations as “absolutely false” and intended to “spoil his image”. The CRPF, with approximately 3.25 lakh personnel, first included women in combat ranks in 1986 and currently has six all-women battalions totaling 8,000 personnel. Additionally, the force has women personnel within sports and other administrative departments. Khajan Singh
