PM Narendra Modi States Opposition’s Defeat in Lok Sabha Elections 2024 Following Supreme Court VVPAT Verdict

PM Modi addressed a rally in Bihar during the second phase of the Lok Sabha elections, criticizing opposition leaders for casting doubts on the Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs). He accused the opposition of preventing people from voting in the past through tactics like booth capturing.

PM Modi highlighted the Supreme Court’s ruling that the old system of ballot paper voting will not be reinstated and stated that efforts to discredit the achievements of the nation should be stopped. The Supreme Court questioned the credentials of the Association for Democratic Reforms (ADR) and expressed concern about certain interest groups attempting to undermine the nation’s progress.

PM Modi also attacked the INDIA alliance, accusing them of intending to seize property for their own gain. He referred to a controversy over comments made by Congress leader Sam Pitroda about taxing inheritance.

In response to PM Modi’s remarks on the Voter-Verifiable Paper Audit Trail, Congress leader Pawar Khera raised a question about a book authored by BJP leader GVL Narasimha Rao in 2010, which raised doubts about the reliability of EVMs. The text also mentions that the United Progressive Alliance (UPA) government was in power at that time.
