PM Narendra Modi’s “Matter Of Pride” Comment: India Pacer Mohammed Shami After Voting In Uttar Pradesh’s Amroha

After casting his vote, Shami urged citizens to exercise their franchise and “elect the government of their choice”. He expressed his pride in Prime Minister Narendra Modi mentioning him in his speech in Amroha and praising him and his game. Voting took place in eight parliamentary constituencies of Uttar Pradesh – Amroha, Meerut, Baghpat, Ghaziabad, Gautam Budh Nagar, Aligarh, Mathura, and Bulandshahr during the second phase of Lok Sabha polls.

88 constituencies across 13 states and union territories started voting at 7 am on Friday for the second phase of the Lok Sabha polls. In February, PM Modi wished a speedy recovery to Shami, who underwent an operation on his Achilles tendon. Shami is currently in rehabilitation from the injury and provided an update on his progress on April 19, expressing his eagerness to make a comeback.

Shami, who last represented India in the ODI World Cup final against Australia in November, was the tournament’s highest wicket-taker with 24 wickets in seven matches. However, he missed the tour to South Africa following the tournament and the three-match T20I series against Afghanistan in January.
