Arvind Kejriwal’s Good Health Continues with Two Daily Insulin Doses, Say Doctors admin, April 27, 2024 The decision was made after a review by the board, which consists of an endocrinologist and a diabetologist. Following a virtual conference, the board determined that Mr. Kejriwal is healthy and does not need to adjust the dosage of his medications. The next review meeting is scheduled for seven days from now. Mr. Kejriwal received his first dose of insulin on Monday evening when his blood sugar level spiked up to 217. The medical board, formed the next day, recommended continuing the dosage for five days. Currently, he is receiving a low dose of insulin twice a day, before lunch and dinner, and this will continue until the next review meeting. Officials from Tihar jail stated that Mr. Kejriwal’s health is being monitored by their doctors, and he is being provided with home-cooked food and other prescribed medications. It was reported that the Aam Aadmi Party leader, currently in jail since his arrest on March 21, allegedly wrote a note to the Tihar Jail’s Superintendent after a video conference with doctors from the All India Institute of Medical Sciences. Despite the meeting, jail officials claimed that the insulin supply had not been increased. However, Mr. Kejriwal asserted that his blood sugar readings have consistently been between 250 and 320 mg/dl, and he has repeatedly requested insulin. The Aam Aadmi Party had previously accused a conspiracy to harm Mr. Kejriwal by denying him insulin and other diabetes medications. On the other hand, the Enforcement Directorate accused Mr. Kejriwal of regularly consuming sugary foods, insinuating an attempt to exploit his health for legal advantage. Mr. Kejriwal dismissed these accusations, labeling them as petty and accused the agency of politicizing the issue. He was arrested on March 21 in connection with a money-laundering case linked to the Delhi government’s now-scrapped excise policy and has been detained in Tihar Jail since April 1. His petition challenging the summonses issued by the probe agency is set to be heard by the Delhi High Court on May 15. Mr. Kejriwal
