Election Commission Asks AAP to Modify Campaign Song; Atishi Questions BJP’s Actions for 2024 Lok Sabha Elections.

The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has been embroiled in a conflict with the Enforcement Directorate over the arrest of Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and other leaders associated with the Delhi liquor policy case. The AAP has asserted that the case is fabricated. The party has expressed dissatisfaction with the Election Commission’s (EC) response, claiming that the EC has not taken action against violations of the poll code by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).

Amid these developments, the EC has stated that a song released at the party headquarters does not breach the model code of conduct. The EC has requested modifications to the contents of the advertisement. This comes in the context of the upcoming hearing at the Supreme Court on Monday, where Mr. Kejriwal is challenging his arrest.

Previously, he had emphasized the unprecedented nature of his arrest and its implications for democratic principles. Mr. Kejriwal also highlighted the timing of his arrest, which coincided with the onset of the Lok Sabha elections and the enforcement of the model code of conduct. He contended that this timing underscored the arbitrary nature of the agency’s actions.

This ongoing legal battle has brought to light significant tensions between the AAP, the EC, and the Enforcement Directorate.
