Pakistan Appoints Renowned Indian Coach and Star-Studded Coaching Team for T20 World Cup

Chairman PCB Mohsin Naqvi announced in a press conference at the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore on Sunday that Gary Kirsten will be in charge of the Pakistan men’s cricket team for the upcoming ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024, the ICC Champions Trophy 2025, ACC T20 Asia Cup 2025, and the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026 in India and Sri Lanka. Jason Gillespie, on the other hand, will handle the ICC World Test Championship fixtures against Bangladesh, England, and South Africa in the 2024-25 season. In a statement, PCB extended its congratulations to Kirsten and Gillespie for their appointments as the red and white-ball head coaches, respectively. Kirsten expressed his excitement for the opportunity and his aim to contribute positively to the Pakistan men’s national team in limited-overs cricket.

Gillespie, in turn, thanked PCB for showing faith in him for the Test side’s job. He expressed his gratitude for the honor of coaching one of the most highly-regarded and talented cricket teams in the traditional format of the sport.
