2 People Fall Ill After Eating at Noida McDonald’s and Theobroma; Investigation Underway admin, April 29, 2024 Several complaints were submitted to the Food Safety Connect portal of the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI). One complaint involved a consumer falling ill after eating a burger and french fries from the McDonald’s outlet in Noida Sector 18. Upon receiving the complaint, the Food Safety and Drug Administration (FDA) team took samples of palm oil, cheese, and mayonnaise from the outlet for testing. In a separate incident, a woman became sick after consuming a stale cake from Theobroma bakery in Noida Sector 104. The FDA team also collected samples of the cake for testing following the complaint. Assistant Commissioner (Food) FDA, Archana Dheeran, stated that the laboratory report is expected within a month. If the samples fail the report, further action will be taken and a case will be registered.
