Customers in Noida’s McDonald’s and Theobroma Get Sick, Investigation Underway admin, April 29, 2024 Complaints have been lodged with the Food Safety Connect portal of the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI), regarding two separate incidents in Noida. The first complaint was against a McDonald’s outlet in Noida Sector 18, where a consumer fell ill after consuming a burger and french fries. In response, the Food Safety and Drug Administration (FDA) of Gautam Buddh Nagar visited the outlet to collect samples of palm oil, cheese, and mayonnaise. The Assistant Commissioner (Food) FDA, Gautam Buddh Nagar, stated that action has been taken and the samples have been collected for further investigation. In the second incident, a woman fell sick after consuming a stale cake ordered from Theobroma bakery in Noida Sector 104. Following this complaint, the FDA team collected samples of the cake for testing. If the product fails in the report, then a case will be registered. The report is expected to come within a month, and further action will be taken if the samples fail in the report.
