Sita And Gita, Found Alive and Married a Year After Presumed Murdered admin, April 30, 2024 The police discovered that two sisters, Sita and Gita, who were reported missing and suspected to have been murdered, had actually run away from home to marry their lovers. The sisters, who were in their 20s and originally from Uttar Pradesh’s Gorakhpur, were found alive and married with a child each. Sita, 20, and Gita, 21, along with their brother and parents, used to live in Delhi, while their hometown was in Gorakhpur. In January 2023, their brother, Ajay Prajapati, filed a missing report for his sisters. During the search for his sisters, Ajay contacted a man from their village, Jaynath Maurya, who was alleged to have had an affair with one of the sisters. This led to an argument where Jaynath and his family allegedly threatened Ajay, stating “You’ll meet the same fate as your sisters.” Worried for his sisters, Ajay attempted to file a murder case against Jaynath Maurya and his family, but the police initially refused to file a complaint due to lack of evidence. After approaching the court, the case was eventually filed in Belghat police station, Gorakhpur on the court’s order in January 8, 2024. After four months of investigation, the police discovered that the sisters were alive and had run away from home to marry their lovers. On learning about the murder case filed by their brother, the sisters approached the police to prevent any innocent person from being punished. Sita revealed that she is married to Vijender from Haryana and has a five-month-old daughter, while Gita disclosed that she has married Suresh Ram from Almora, Uttarakhand, and has a six-month-old daughter. *(With inputs from Abrar Ahmad)* Uttar Pradesh's Gorakhpur
