Arvind Kejriwal Running Delhi Congress From Jail: Ex MLA Who Quit Party admin, May 1, 2024 The Congress leader expressed discontent about the candidature of Kanhaiya Kumar and Udit Raj, attributing the current state of the Congress party to the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and its alleged dissemination of “false propaganda” against the Sheila Dixit government in Delhi and the UPA government. Naseeb Singh, a former MLA, contended that the party’s condition is a result of its alliance with AAP, which he and other senior leaders opposed due to the latter’s derogatory remarks towards them. Singh also criticized the nominations of Kanhaiya Kumar and Udit Raj, claiming they do not align with the party’s ideology. He expressed dissatisfaction with the party’s leadership and the decision-making process, particularly regarding the alliance with AAP. Singh further alleged that the Delhi Congress Committee is being controlled by Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal from Tihar Jail. He criticized the absence of Kharge ji’s picture and questioned the party’s integrity, expressing concern over its pursuit of power at any cost. Another party member, Neeraj Basoya, criticized the alliance with AAP, labeling it as “totally wrong, unrealistic, and unnatural.” He emphasized the detrimental impact of the alliance on Congress workers and expressed disillusionment with the party’s decision. Basoya also raised concerns about AAP’s focus solely on Arvind Kejriwal, as well as the absence of acknowledgement for Congress’ promises, the Gandhi family, and other Congress leaders. He pointed out the imprisonment of the top three AAP leaders and the seat-sharing agreement under the INDIA bloc, which allocates three seats in Delhi to the Congress and four to the AAP in the Lok Sabha elections. The Congress has nominated JP Aggarwal, Kanhaiya Kumar, and Udit Raj for the Delhi Lok Sabha seats. The elections for the seven seats of Delhi are scheduled for May 25, with the results to be announced on June 4. This story was not edited by NDTV staff and is published from a syndicated feed.
