Arvind Kejriwal running Delhi Congress from jail: former MLA who quit party admin, May 1, 2024 The Congress leader expressed dissatisfaction with the candidature of Kanhaiya Kumar and Udit Raj. Former MLA Naseeb Singh attributed the current condition of the Congress party to the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), accusing them of spreading “false propaganda” against the Sheila Dixit government in Delhi and the UPA government at the Centre. Singh, along with around 30-35 ex-MLAs who were part of the Sheila Dixit government, opposed the alliance with AAP, citing derogatory remarks made by AAP against Congress leaders and its leaders’ controversial statements. However, their concerns were disregarded by the high command, leading to the alliance. Singh also noted that the Delhi Congress Committee appears to be being controlled by Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal from Tihar Jail. He accused Kejriwal of running the committee and criticized Kanhaiya Kumar and Udit Raj for not displaying a picture of Kharge ji, indicating a departure from the party’s ideology. Neeraj Basoya criticized the party’s decision to ally with AAP, labeling it “wrong, unrealistic, and unnatural.” He expressed his dismay at the alliance, highlighting that AAP focus solely on Kejriwal, neglecting Congress’ promises, the Gandhi family, and other Congress leaders. Regarding the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, the Congress is fielding JP Aggarwal from Chandni Chowk, Kanhaiya Kumar from North East Delhi, and Udit Raj from Delhi North West. The elections for the seven seats in Delhi are scheduled for May 25, and the results will be announced on June 4. Indian Politics
