Weather Alert: Exercise Caution When Driving and Avoid Beaches in Dubai

Dubai Police issued a public safety warning in response to anticipated unstable weather conditions. The alert advised people to stay away from beaches, avoid sailing, and steer clear of valley areas, torrential rains, and low-lying areas. It also urged caution while driving vehicles.

The warning was issued following an alert by the UAE for medium to heavy rains over two days, starting from Wednesday evening. In response to the weather forecast, companies have been encouraged to allow employees to work from home. Dubai Airports issued advisories for passengers regarding the inclement weather expected the following day.

Authorities recommended that travelers begin their journeys early and allot extra travel time to reach the airport on time, regardless of whether they are traveling by car or public transport. This recent warning comes after the UAE experienced record rains on April 16, which led to significant flooding in various parts of the country, including Dubai and northern cities. These rains were the heaviest the United Arab Emirates has seen in the 75 years for which records have been kept.
