Cash Worth 25 Crore Found in Aide’s Residence During Raids Associated with Jharkhand Minister.

The probe agency is currently conducting simultaneous raids at nine locations, one of which is Sail City in Ranchi. These recent raids, carried out under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA), are specifically targeting approximately half a dozen locations associated with Virendra Ram, the former chief engineer at the Jharkhand Rural Development Department, and his close associates. Virendra Ram had been arrested by the ED in February 2023 in connection with a money laundering case.

Video footage of the raid depicts a large amount of currency notes strewn across a room that allegedly belongs to the domestic aide of Sanjiv Lal, the personal secretary to Jharkhand Rural Development minister Alamgir Alam. Alamgir Alam, a 70-year-old Congress leader, represents the Pakur seat in the Jharkhand assembly. Jharkhand BJP spokesperson Pratul Shahdev expressed concern over the situation, stating, “Corruption is not ending in Jharkhand.

This money during elections indicates that there is a plan to spend this money in the elections. The Election Commission should take action on this.” In addition to Sail City in Ranchi, on Monday morning, one team of the ED was searching for Vikas Kumar, an engineer from the Road Construction Department.

Another ED team is concurrently conducting raids in the Bariatu, Morhabadi, and Bodia areas.
