Mayawati removes nephew as successor, from party position until he matures.

Akash Anand, a 29-year-old political figure, was recently removed from his position after making a statement comparing the BJP to the Taliban. In response to his comments, his aunt, Mayawati, mentioned that he is being temporarily relieved of his responsibilities until he reaches full maturity. She also expressed her dedication to the BSP and the movement for social change.

Mayawati further explained that although she had previously declared Akash Anand as the National Coordinator and successor in the party, he is now being separated from these roles in the interest of the party and its movement. His father, Anand Kumar, will continue to fulfill his responsibilities in the party. Akash Anand’s critical remarks about the BJP and the government had led to legal action against him for violating the Model Code of Conduct.

Following the filing of a case, all of his scheduled rallies were cancelled. This development occurred as the BSP’s support among the state’s Dalits remained crucial in the ongoing election. It is worth noting that Akash Anand had entered politics in the lead-up to the 2019 Lok Sabha election and had been designated as Mayawati’s political successor in December of the same year.

The BSP party, which has decided to contest the election independently, remains a significant political force.
