Adhir Ranjan’s “We Have Negrito” Quip Causes Further Trouble for Congress After Sam Pitroda’s Controversial Remark

Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury, the Congress’ Bengal chief, sparked controversy with his remarks about the physical appearance of South Indians. He made a statement suggesting that South Indians resemble Africans, which led to criticism from the BJP for allegedly disrespecting Indians based on skin color. Chowdhury’s attempt to defend a fellow Congress member, Sam Pitroda, after his controversial remarks, was heavily criticized by the BJP.

Shehzad Poonawalla, in particular, raised concerns about Chowdhury’s previous comments about President Droupadi Murmu, and questioned the Congress’ response to both incidents. The Congress has not yet addressed Chowdhury’s statement, and there are growing tensions surrounding the issue.
