In his affidavit, PM Modi declared total assets worth Rs 3.02 crore, predominantly consisting of a fixed deposit of Rs 2.86 crore with the State Bank of India. He also stated having Rs 52,920 as cash in hand and Rs 80,304 in two bank accounts in Gandhinagar and Varanasi. Additionally, the PM disclosed an investment of Rs 9.12 lakh in National Savings Certificates and the ownership of four gold rings worth Rs 2.68 lakh. His income increased from Rs 11.14 lakh in 2018-19 to Rs 23.56 lakh in 2022-23. In the education section, PM Modi declared that he completed his Bachelor of Arts from Delhi University in 1978 and Master of Arts from Gujarat University in 1983. He asserted that there were no pending criminal cases against him. Expressing his sentiments while filing the nomination, the Prime Minister said, he felt overwhelmed and emotional, acknowledging the affection and support he has received in the past 10 years, stating, “Today, Maa Ganga has adopted me.” Varanasi is scheduled to vote in the seventh phase of the Lok Sabha election on June 1.
