Amit Shah Takes Swipe at Congress for Plundering Country for Years

Amit Shah criticized the INDIA alliance, claiming that the Congress will obstruct the progress made, including the construction of the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya, and suggesting that they would place a “Babri lock” on it if they came into power. He accused the Congress of dynastic politics, highlighting Lalu Yadav’s desire for his son to become CM, Mamata Banerjee’s desire for her nephew to do the same, and Sonia Gandhi’s wish for her son Rahul Gandhi to become Prime Minister. Shah expressed the belief that the people should have the ultimate say in the allocation of seats, countering the idea that certain positions should belong to specific families.

He also critiqued the Congress’s approach to Article 370, praising Modi for taking action to abrogate it and stating that it has led to an improvement in security by curbing terrorism. Additionally, Shah accused the Congress of corruption, claiming that the Modi government would ensure that corrupt individuals are held accountable. He also praised the development in Uttar Pradesh under the “double engine” government, highlighting the infrastructure improvements and the eradication of criminal elements by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath.

The political significance of Amethi and Raebareli, traditional strongholds of the Gandhi family, has been underscored with Rahul Gandhi entering the fray in Rae Bareli and a close aide being fielded in Amethi. The Congress’s electoral performance in Uttar Pradesh over the years, particularly its decline from winning two seats in 2014 to just one in 2019, was also noted.
