In his first term, Mr. Nadda was in charge of the health ministry, and in 2020, he became the BJP chief, replacing Amit Shah. Mr. Nadda’s tenure was extended until the end of the year’s general election, four months before it was expected to end. The Council of ministers taking oath is expected to include NDA allies, as the BJP falls short of a majority for the first time in a decade. The Telugu Desam Party and Janata Dal United are in the spotlight, having won 16 and 12 seats, respectively. With the BJP holding 240 seats, 32 seats short of a majority, the TDP and JD(U) are expected to get four and two cabinet berths, respectively.
