JP Nadda, BJP Chief, Expected to Rejoin Modi 3.0 Cabinet, According to Sources

Thirty ministers, including PM Modi, are expected to take oath. In his first term, Mr. Nadda was in charge of the health ministry, and in 2020, he became the BJP chief, replacing Amit Shah.

Mr. Nadda’s tenure was extended until the end of the year’s general election, four months before it was expected to end. The Council of ministers taking oath is expected to include NDA allies, as the BJP falls short of a majority for the first time in a decade.

The Telugu Desam Party and Janata Dal United are in the spotlight, having won 16 and 12 seats, respectively. With the BJP holding 240 seats, 32 seats short of a majority, the TDP and JD(U) are expected to get four and two cabinet berths, respectively.

K Rammohan Naidu, Chandrasekhar Pemmasani, Lallan Singh, and Ramnath Thakur from the TDP and JD(U) are expected to take oath today. Other leaders expected to be included in the cabinet are Jayant Chaudhary, RV’s Chirag Paswan, Pratap Rao Jadhav, Jitan Ram Manjhi, Chandra Prakash Chaudhary, Ramdas Athawale, Anupriya Patel, and HD Kumaraswamy.
