Team Modi’s New Administration Sworn In: 72 Ministers, 11 Allies, 24 States

The new government in India is being formed with thirty Cabinet Ministers, five with independent charge, and 36 Ministers of State. The allocation of portfolios is yet to be announced. Prime Minister Modi, 73, is leading a coalition government for the first time in his third term, also referred to as Modi 3.0.

This follows his significant victory after 10 years of the United Progressive Alliance rule. The oath ceremony took place at the lawns of the Rashtrapati Bhavan. The weather office has predicted a peak temperature of 42 degrees Celsius in the national capital.

President Droupadi Murmu administered the oath to PM Modi, with Rajnath Minister following suit.
