Amit Shah, S Jaishankar, and JP Nadda Assume Control of Their Ministerial Duties admin, June 11, 2024 The 71 ministers who joined Modi 3.0 recently arrived at their respective ministries to take charge. This follows a grand swearing-in ceremony on Sunday where each ministry was allocated to a minister. Prime Minister Modi himself has taken charge of the Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions, the Department of Atomic Energy, and the Department of Space. Senior BJP leaders such as Amit Shah, S Jaishankar, Ashwini Vaishnaw, and JP Nadda have also assumed charge at their respective offices. Amit Shah has taken charge as the Home Minister at the Ministry of Home Affairs in New Delhi, while S Jaishankar has taken charge as the External Affairs Minister a day after the portfolio allocation in New Delhi. J P Nadda has assumed charge of the Health as well as the Chemical and Fertilisers ministries. New entrants to the Union Cabinet include former Madhya Pradesh chief ministers Shivraj Singh Chouhan, who has been allocated the Agriculture and Rural Development Ministries, and Manohar Lal Khattar. Mr Khattar has assumed the charge as the Union housing and urban affairs minister in the newly formed Modi government at the Centre. Ashwini Vaishnaw has taken charge as the Union Minister for Information and Broadcasting, succeeding Anurag Thakur. Chirag Paswan, a two-time MP from Bihar and chief of Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas), has assumed office as the Minister of Food Processing Industries. Bhupender Yadav has returned as the Environment Minister, and Hardeep Singh Puri has also returned as the Petroleum Minister in the Modi 3.0 cabinet. Kiren Rijiju has been allocated the Parliamentary and Minority affairs department. Annapurna Devi has taken charge as the Women and Child Development minister.
