Kuwait Fire Accident: S Jaishankar Speaks To Kuwaiti Foreign Minister After Fire Tragedy

Around 40 Indians are reported to have died and over 50 injured in a fire at a building housing around 195 migrant workers, according to officials. India’s Minister of External Affairs, Mr. Jaishankar, stated that he spoke to Kuwaiti FM Abdullah Ali Al-Yahya regarding the tragedy and was assured that the incident would be fully investigated and responsibility would be fixed.

Mr. Jaishankar also urged for the early repatriation of the mortal remains of those who lost their lives and emphasized that the injured were receiving necessary medical attention. Additionally, Minister of State for External Affairs Kirti Vardhan Singh is urgently traveling to Kuwait to oversee assistance to the injured and to ensure the early repatriation of those who were killed.
