Man in Maharashtra arrested for killing woman to settle gambling debt, say police.

The investigation into the case of Asha Arvind Raikar, a resident of the Kopar area found choked in her flat, is currently ongoing, according to deputy commissioner of police (zone III) Sachin Gunjal. CCTV footage indicated that Satish Vichare, a resident of the same building, had entered her flat on Thursday afternoon. During questioning, Vichare allegedly confessed to the police that he was involved in online cricket betting and was in debt amounting to Rs 60,000. He purportedly stated that, in order to acquire money, he decided to rob the woman.

Following the alleged strangulation of Raikar, he reportedly stole her chain and earrings before locking the flat from outside and fleeing the scene.
