Woman from Punjab Fatally Shot by Indian-Origin Man in New Jersey, Another in Critical Condition

Tragically, Jasvir Kaur, 29, succumbed to her injuries, while her 20-year-old cousin remains in critical condition.

Gaurav Gill was apprehended after an extensive search and faces multiple charges, including first-degree murder and attempted murder. The motive for the shooting is still unknown, and it is unclear if Gill had any prior relationship with the victims. The house where the women resided is owned by Gurmukh Singh, who remembered Jasvir Kaur as a hard-working and kind individual. In response to the incident, the Indian consulate in New York expressed condolences and stated that they are in touch with the relevant authorities to follow up on the case.
