Infosys Offers Staff Incentives Up To Rs 8 Lakh to Relocate to New Campus

The new Infosys campus in Karnataka’s Hubballi has a seating capacity of 5,000 employees. This move is part of the company’s strategy to expand its presence in tier-2 cities. To encourage employees to relocate, Infosys is offering incentives of up to Rs 8 lakh. The shift to a smaller city presents challenges in terms of lifestyle and perks compared to tier-1 cities, hence the monetary incentives.

The company has sent an email to its employees, urging them to consider pursuing their careers at the Hubli DC. The campus is located 400 km northwest of Bengaluru, where Infosys headquarters are situated, and was established two years ago. The incentive package varies based on the employee’s level, with different amounts being offered at the time of relocation and after a specified period. Criticism from a BJP MLA and Deputy Leader of the Opposition regarding the campus and land acquisition has prompted discussion.

Despite this, Karnataka’s Commerce and Industries Minister commended Infosys for the incentives, noting that the move could encourage local talent from the Kittur Karnataka region to explore opportunities closer to home. While Infosys is yet to comment on the issue, the company’s commitment to state-of-the-art campuses and employing thousands of engineers worldwide was acknowledged and appreciated.
