Bangladeshi Youth Mohammad Delwar Hossain Missing From Kolkata Hotel: Police

Police in Kolkata are currently reviewing CCTV footage from a hotel and surrounding areas as they investigate the disappearance of 23-year-old Mohammad Delwar Hossain. Hossain had come to the city for medical treatment and was staying at a hotel on Mirza Ghalib Street in central Kolkata.

The hotel’s management stated that Hossain, accompanied by relatives, is believed to have left the premises late at night. The relatives filed a missing persons complaint at the Park Street police station the following morning.

A senior police officer informed PTI that an investigation is ongoing, with the review of CCTV footage as a crucial part of the process. The officer also mentioned that a case was filed after the hotel authorities reported the disappearance.

This incident comes after the disappearance and suspected murder of Bangladeshi lawmaker Anwarul Azim Anar, who had also come to Kolkata for medical reasons. Authorities suspect that Anar was killed inside an apartment in the city’s New Town area, with two suspects currently apprehended in connection with the case.
