President Droupadi Murmu Celebrates 66th Birthday; Vice President and PM Modi Offer Greetings

On her birthday, President Murmu expressed her gratitude for the warm wishes she received from fellow citizens, acknowledging their love and support as a source of inspiration for her. She also conveyed her thankfulness and wished everyone a bright future. The day started with the president’s visit to the Lord Jagannath temple in Delhi, where she prayed for the welfare of all citizens and also expressed her hopes for the country to continue setting new standards of progress. President Murmu, born in Uparbeda village in Odisha’s Mayurbhanj, was sworn in as the country’s 15th President on July 25, 2022.

Prime Minister Modi extended his birthday greetings to President Murmu, praising her wisdom and emphasis on serving the poor and marginalized as a strong guiding force. He expressed gratitude for her tireless efforts and visionary leadership, and wished her a long and healthy life. President Murmu’s activities on her birthday included a visit to the Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya National Institute for Persons with Physical Disabilities in New Delhi, where she spent time with differently-abled children, interacted with patients, and inaugurated the MITTI cafe, managed by differently-abled people, within the President’s Estate. Former president Ram Nath Kovind, Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla, Odisha Governor Raghubar Das, Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, along with other political figures, also conveyed their birthday wishes to President Murmu during the day.
