Authorities confiscate over 3,000 Kg of ‘Adulterated’ Ghee and Palm Oil valued at Rs 14 Lakh in Gujarat.

A raid conducted by the Food and Drug Control Administration (FDCA) resulted in the confiscation of goods worth approximately Rs 14 lakh from the facility of Shiv Food Products in Onchi village of Navsari district. The raid was initiated based on actionable intelligence regarding malpractices at the facility. The confiscated palm oil, suspected of being mixed with ghee to reduce costs, has raised concerns about the brand Sukhwant, which is now under scrutiny for selling adulterated products.

During the operation, authorities seized 10 containers of palm oil on the premises and took eight samples of the adulterated ghee for laboratory testing. The purpose of the testing was to confirm the presence of palm oil in the seized products. Gujarat FDCA Commissioner H.G.
