Roof Leaking After Rains: Ayodhya Ram Temple’s Priest Acharya Satyendra Das Facing No Drainage System

Acharya Satyendra Das informed reporters about a heavy leakage from the roof of the temple. He alleged negligence in the temple’s construction and mentioned the absence of drainage arrangements for rainwater, urging the temple authorities to take corrective measures. The chairman of the temple construction committee, Nripendra Mishra, visited the temple after being informed about the incident and instructed the repair and waterproofing of the roof.

Additionally, Acharya Satyendra Das spoke to reporters separately, expressing surprise and disappointment at the roof leakage and emphasizing the need for accountability, given the involvement of renowned engineers in the temple’s construction. Meanwhile, heavy rains on Saturday night resulted in waterlogging and road cave-ins in Ayodhya, prompting Mayor Girish Pati Tripathi to start damage control efforts and deploy municipality teams to remove water from affected houses. In response to the situation, the Congress accused the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) of corruption in both the temple construction and civic facilities in Ayodhya.

Congress Chief Ajay Rai highlighted the leakage issue in the Ram temple’s sanctum sanctorum and criticized the substandard construction of roads. He further accused the BJP of exploiting Ayodhya for electoral gains and failing to compensate the affected residents.
