Panic in Hyderabad as Leopard Caught on Camera, Authorities Launch Search admin, June 25, 2024 The Forest Department took swift action after a leopard was spotted on CCTV in the early hours of Tuesday. They installed 10 trap cameras and set up three cages to capture the big cat. The leopard was seen on CCTV entering a residence in Jhansimiyaguda in Rangareddy district. Locals had reported the suspected presence of a big cat, with attacks on stray dogs and cattle attributed to it. However, forest officials had not confirmed the animal’s identity as a leopard. The reported presence of the leopard caused panic among residents. Rajendranagar MLA V. Prakash Goud visited the area and urged forest officials to take all necessary steps to capture the leopard. This incident followed last month’s capture of a leopard near Rajiv Gandhi International Airport in the same area. During a five-day operation, the forest officials successfully trapped the leopard in a cage using live bait. The three-year-old male leopard was then relocated to Nehru Zoological Park and eventually released into the forests. *Please note that other than the headline, this story has not been edited by NDTV staff and is published from a syndicated feed. * Jhansimiyaguda
