Asaduddin Owaisi Stays Unfazed After Vandalism Incident at Delhi Home with Black Ink

The Member of Parliament (MP) shared a video of police officers cleaning black ink off the plaque outside his residence. He expressed frustration at his Delhi residence being targeted multiple times and questioned the Delhi Police’s apparent helplessness in preventing these incidents.

He also tagged Home Minister Amit Shah and Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla, urging them to take action and ensure MPs’ safety. Mr. Owaisi, who secured a significant victory in the Hyderabad constituency, addressed the repeated targeting of his residence and urged the perpetrators to confront him directly instead of resorting to vandalism.

He highlighted previous attacks on his Delhi home and an incident in which his convoy was fired upon in Uttar Pradesh. He also faced controversy for expressing solidarity with Palestine during his oath-taking as an MP, prompting strong reactions from the treasury benches.

In response to the criticism, Mr. Owaisi defended his mention of Palestine, citing the oppression faced by the people there. His remarks led to a written objection from Union Minister and BJP leader Shobha Karandlaje, who requested the pro tem Speaker to ask Mr. Owaisi to retake his oath.
