Thief from Chhattisgarh Abandons IAS Preparation for Crime, Fails Again admin, June 27, 2024 Sahu’s criminal aspirations have come to an end following a failed blackmail attempt, which led to his arrest by the police. The incident unfolded in Chhattisgarh’s Durg district when a couple reported being blackmailed over an intimate video. The blackmailer, identified as Sahu, demanded Rs 10 lakh from the couple, threatening to release the video online if his demands were not met. The couple filed a complaint, prompting a significant effort by the police and cybercrime units to track down the perpetrator. Through the examination of CCTV footage and thorough investigations, Sahu was identified, arrested, and subsequently admitted to the crime. During questioning, the 28-year-old confessed to his actions and shared details of his criminal activities, which surprised the police. Sahu revealed that after his unsuccessful attempt to pass the civil service entrance exam in Delhi, he returned to his hometown in Ahiwara town, Chhattisgarh, and turned to a life of crime. His method of operation involved targeting the same houses repeatedly, leading to his ease of tracking by law enforcement. In his most recent break-in, Sahu not only attempted theft but also recorded an intimate video of the couple and proceeded with blackmail. His lazy approach to crime had led him to multiple thefts in the same neighborhood, ultimately resulting in his downfall. The swift action of the police in response to the couple’s complaint led to Sahu’s arrest, bringing an end to his criminal activities. Chhattisgarh's Durg District
