Bridge Sinking in Thakurganj, Bihar Marks Sixth Collapse in 20 Days

The bridge in Thakurganj block has sunk by a foot today, due to the increase in water level of the Bund river caused by heavy rains. The surface of the bridge has cracked, rendering it unsafe for use.

Located in Khoshi Dangi village of Patharia panchayat and built in 2007-2008 from the MP fund of the then MP Md Tasleemuddin of Thakurganj, the bridge has succumbed to the pressure of the rising water levels. This bridge serves to connect three to four panchayats, and its collapse would impact a population of 50 to 60 thousand people.
