SpiceJet Staff Refused to Frisk Woman Cop Who Slapped Jawan: Sources

The airline claimed that one of its employees, Anuradha Rani, who was part of the ground staff responsible for loading food and beverages onto planes, possessed the necessary documentation required to enter the airport at 4 am on Thursday. However, when she refused to undergo a security check, an argument ensued with the security personnel. The sources mentioned that the side gates are typically used by catering vehicles, and the altercation moved inside where a woman constable was called to the scene. It was during this argument that the SpiceJet employee allegedly slapped the assistant sub-inspector.

The employee was arrested after the police registered a case against her for assaulting a public servant, and she has been placed in judicial custody. In response, SpiceJet filed an FIR alleging that the CISF personnel had used “sexually colored language” and made inappropriate remarks. They claimed that the CISF jawan even asked the employee to meet him after his duty hours at his home. A SpiceJet spokesperson stated that the female security staff member, who had a valid airport entry pass, was subjected to inappropriate language and remarks by the CISF personnel during the incident at the steel gate.

SpiceJet reported that they are pursuing legal action in what they described as a “serious case of sexual harassment” and have involved the local police. The airline expressed full support for their employee, stating, “We stand firmly by our employee and are committed to providing her with full support.”
