Bus Carrying Pilgrims Hits Truck in Odisha Mayurbhanj: 3 Dead, 14 Injured admin, July 13, 2024 The accident occurred at approximately 5:30 am on National Highway 18 near Budikhmari Square, under the jurisdiction of Betanati Police Station. It involved a bus carrying around 20 pilgrims and a commercial vehicle. The bus, en route from Hyderabad to Gaya, collided with the other vehicle. A senior officer reported that the bus driver, identified as Uday Singh from the Charminar area of Hyderabad, was among the victims. The injured passengers were transported to the Pandit Raghunath Murmu Medical College and Hospital in Baripada. According to Additional District Medical Officer Bijay Kumar Das, the bus driver passed away at the scene, while two others succumbed to their injuries during treatment. Fourteen injured individuals are currently receiving treatment at the medical college. The officer also mentioned that the truck driver fled the scene following the accident.
