Delhi Police apprehend 4 individuals in attempted extortion of gym owner case.

Four members, including a juvenile in Conflict with the Law (CCL) of the Gogi-Deepak Boxer-Sunny Kakran gang, have been arrested by the Delhi Police for firing on a gym owner in Burari for extortion. According to DCP North Manoj Kumar Meena, the police received a call at 10 pm reporting that a bullet was fired in the air in front of a witness who was also threatened. The individuals who fired the shots fled after being chased and stole a motorcycle belonging to a laborer from the Swaroop Nagar area.

Following the incident, the police reviewed CCTV footage and used technical intelligence to identify one of the individuals who had fled. Raids were conducted, resulting in the arrest of the four individuals, including the juvenile. DCP Meena further disclosed that one of the arrested, Nikhil, had a prior case of murder and attempted murder from 2022, while Mohit had two cases of robbery from the same year.

Gagandeep was arrested for providing shelter to the other accused. DCP Meena also mentioned the application of a new criminal law section that treats involving juveniles in crimes as a separate offense. This section allows for penalties not only for the juvenile but also for those who encouraged or compelled them to commit the crime.
