PM Modi Condemns Attack On “Friend’ Trump, Says “Violence Has No Place In Politics

Deeply concerned by the attack on former President Donald Trump, Prime Minister Modi posted on X, strongly condemning the incident and expressing his wish for Trump’s speedy recovery. He also extended thoughts and prayers to the deceased’s family, the injured, and the American people. Rahul Gandhi, Congress MP and Leader of the Opposition in Lok Sabha, also expressed deep concern over the assassination attempt on Trump and condemned such acts in the strongest possible terms. He similarly wished for Trump’s swift and complete recovery in a statement on X.

After the attack, visuals from the rally showed security officials rushing Trump off the stage with blood across his face. A bystander was killed and two others critically injured as the shooter fired multiple rounds and was subsequently gunned down by security personnel. The shooter’s identity is yet to be established. US President Joe Biden strongly condemned the incident and spoke to Trump after the shooting, emphasizing that there is no place in America for this kind of violence.

He stressed the need for unity and condemnation of political violence, stating that it is inappropriate and unheard of in America. Biden expressed gratitude for Trump’s safety and well-being, praying for him and his family, and for all those who were at the rally in Pennsylvania. He highlighted the importance of uniting as one nation to condemn the violence in a post on X.
