Tripura district imposes internet ban due to mob violence following tribal youth’s death.

Four people have been arrested by the police in the tribal-dominated Ganda Twisa subdivision of Tripura’s Dhalai district. Despite the imposition of prohibitory orders and the deployment of a large contingent of security forces, tension remains high following Friday night’s violence, which escalated into vandalism and arson resulting in the death of a tribal youth.

The four arrested individuals are reportedly linked to the assault. In response to the situation, former Tripura Chief Minister Manik Sarkar engaged in discussions with Chief Minister Manik Saha, urging him to take appropriate measures to control the unrest.

According to Tripura government sources, the situation is currently under control, with peace meetings being organized to ensure law and order. Additional forces have also been stationed in the area, as confirmed by officials.
