Wedding Chaos: Bride’s Family Attacked by Groom’s Relatives Over Lack of Fish on Menu

Videos were recorded showing punches being thrown and even chairs being flung during a wedding in Uttar Pradesh. The wedding spread included paneer, pulao, and various curries, but did not include fish and meat. This upset the groom and his relatives, leading to physical violence against the bride’s family.

As a result, the wedding was called off, and the groom left the venue. The bride’s family later filed an assault and dowry complaint with the police. On Thursday, Abhishek Sharma led a marriage procession to Anand Nagar village in Deoria district to marry Sushma, daughter of Dinesh Sharma.

However, the situation took a turn when the groom and his family were informed about the absence of non-vegetarian food. This led to a confrontation, during which the groom and his relatives used abusive language and physically assaulted the bride’s family with sticks and kicks. Videos show the altercation between the two families.

The complaint also mentioned that nearly Rs 5 lakh had been given as dowry. Dinesh Sharma stated that he had given Rs 4.5 lakh to the groom for purchasing a car as dowry, along with a tilak set and two gold rings worth Rs 20,000.
