Mumbai Bar’s Beer License Suspended After Accused Mihir Shah’s BMW Hit-and-Run incident admin, July 14, 2024 Police sources have reported that Mihir Shah was heavily intoxicated and joyriding at the time of a fatal collision that resulted in the death of a woman on a bike. Prior to the tragedy, Mihir and his driver purchased beer from the Sai Prasad Bar in Malad and consumed it in the car after departing from a Juhu bar where he had been drinking with friends. The bar’s license has since been suspended for selling beer to the accused after the legal deadline, and security camera footage was found to be deleted during a police raid. Before their visit to the Malad bar for additional drinks, Mihir Shah and three friends had consumed a dozen 60ml glasses of whiskey at the Vice-Global Tapas Bar in Juhu. The bar had been partly demolished for serving alcohol to 24-year-old Shah, who was below the legal drinking age when they left at 11 pm. The bar claimed that Shah presented a false ID indicating he was 27 years old. Mihir Shah is the son of politician Rajesh Shah, a member of Chief Minister Eknath Shinde’s Shiv Sena faction. It is alleged that the 24-year-old was driving a BMW car that collided with Kaveri Nakhwa (45) and injured her husband Pradeep while they were on their two-wheeler in Mumbai’s Worli area. Rajrishi Bidawat, Mihir Shah’s driver, was the other person in the luxury car. CCTV footage suggests that Ms. Nakhwa was dragged for 1.5 km after the collision before the BMW was stopped. The police also stated that the footage showed Mr. Shah switching seats with Mr. Bidawat, removing the woman’s body from under the car, leaving it on the road, and then driving away. Mumbai City
