Doda Encounter: 4 Soldiers Killed in J&K Terrorist Encounter, According to Sources

In the Desa area of the Doda district on Monday night, an encounter broke out in which a Jammu and Kashmir police personnel was reportedly injured. The Indian Army and Jammu and Kashmir Police initiated a joint operation based on specific information about the presence of terrorists. According to the Army’s post on X on Monday night, contact with terrorists was established at around 9 pm, resulting in a heavy firefight and injuries to the security forces. The attack was a coordinated strike on two trucks carrying at least 12 troops, resulting in injuries to five soldiers.

The terrorist attacks, which initially occurred in Poonch and Rajouri districts, have now spread across Jammu, a region that was relatively free from terrorism until a few years ago. Over the past 32 months, more than 40 soldiers have been killed in action in the Jammu region. Last month, Prime Minister Narendra Modi urged the Army to deploy its full spectrum of anti-terrorist capabilities to combat and eliminate terrorism in the Jammu region.
