No Error Apparent”: Top Court Rejects Request to Revisit Adani-Hindenburg Verdict admin, July 15, 2024 The top court recently made a brief three-line ruling on a review petition, stating that after examining the petition, they found no apparent error on the record. The dismissal was carried out by a three-member bench consisting of Chief Justice DY Chandrachud, Justice SB Pardiwala, and Justice Manoj Misra. The review petition, originally dismissed on May 8, was filed by Anamika Jaiswal, a petitioner in the public interest litigation. The petition claimed the presence of mistakes and errors in the judgment and asserted the existence of new material that necessitated a review of the verdict. Additionally, it alleged that the market regulator SEBI failed to disclose any findings or details of action taken regarding 24 investigations. In the earlier judgment, Chief Justice Chandrachud and Justices Pardiwala and Misra had ruled against transferring the probe to SIT. They emphasized that the court could not consider the allegations and OCCRP report as incontrovertible. The Adani Group, in response to the report, labeled it as a “selective misinformation and concealed facts.” The Chairman, Gautam Adani, welcomed the court’s decision, stating that it was a victory for truth.
