Earlier in the day, two army soldiers were injured during a gunfight with terrorists. The operation took place at the Jaddan Bata village and lasted over an hour at around 2 am. The terrorists had fired at a makeshift security camp located inside a government school during an ongoing search operation, according to officials as reported by news agency PTI. One of the critically injured soldiers was evacuated to a Command Hospital in Udhampur using an advanced light helicopter (ALH) amidst inclement weather, as stated by a defense official. The official further praised the swift action by the ALH from Air Force Station, Udhampur, for saving the soldier’s life and ensuring timely medical care at the Command Hospital. Doda, which was cleared of terrorism in 2005, has seen a surge in terror attacks since June 12, beginning with an attack at the Chattergala pass that injured six security personnel. This was followed by an intense firefight in Gandoh, resulting in a policeman being injured. Subsequent encounters resulted in the deaths of three terrorists in Gandoh and another encounter in the Ghadi Bhagwah forest.
